Watershed education program with santa lucia conservancy
The Santa Lucia Conservancy has partnered with CRWC to lead outdoor education programs. CRWC helped create the curriculum and contribute transportation support, while Santa Lucia carries out the implementation of the program. Thus far this year, Santa Lucia Conservancy has taught 25 classes. Twelve have been virtual / zoom classes and 13 have been in person. The remainder of the fall season will be almost entirely in person, with classes scheduled for almost every day through early December.
Nine of the 25 classes have been from underserved schools (Salinas, Monterey Peninsula Unified and charter schools). The program has also been able to welcome Mission Park Elementary 2nd graders from Salinas and plans to host Ord Terrace Elementary 4th graders from Seaside all of whom will use CRWC funds for transportation.
