FIrewise outreach programCRWC is partnering with the Fire Safe Council for Monterey County to promote Firewise USA Communities and the Alert Wildfire cameras. This program is protecting human and wildlife communities, like our own!
What is a Firewise Community? It's a community and group of people who have taken appropriate measures to become more resistant to wildfire structural damage. With this certification, people living within the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) learn how to adapt to living with wildfire by preparing for a fire before it occurs. Learn more here. Key to successful wildfire prevention and management is good planning. The Monterey County Community Wildfire Protection Plan is community wildfire protection plan developed by the Monterey Fire Safe Council in 2010, with an update in 2016. CRWC partners closely with the Monterey Fire Safe Council on wildfire planning and projects. |
